The monthly CFAR Seminar Series brings together the UCSF CFAR community to hear important updates in HIV science from world-class HIV researchers and local early stage investigators. The seminar will vary in format and will include external and internal speakers. For now, the CFAR seminar series will usually be held once monthly, online via Zoom from 10am-11am on the first Wednesday of every month. Dr. Shoptaw is Executive Director of the Center for Behavioral & Addiction Medicine (CBAM) and Center Director of the Center for HIV Identification, Prevention, and Treatment Services (CHIPTS). He is a licensed psychologist. He is also Professor and Vice Chair of Research in the Department of Family Medicine and Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at UCLA. As well as an Honorary Professor at the University of Cape Town. For over 25 years.
