Biography
I am interested in the intersection between gender equity and HIV with a particular focus on the sexual and reproductive health of cisgender women living with HIV (WLHIV). Currently, I am exploring the menopausal experiences of WLHIV in the San Francisco Bay Area, how this population manages symptoms related to menopause with their healthcare providers, and barriers and facilitators to using hormone replacement therapy for symptom management. My previous work has included an examination of how women who are HIV-negative make decisions related to uptake of hormonal contraceptives and an ethnographic study of New York State’s Ending the Epidemic campaign.
