Biography
Sam Schnittman is a StARR (Stimulating Access to Research in Residency) Fellow in the Department of Medicine at UCSF. His long-term interests are in understanding the mechanisms that underlie inflammation and immune activation in HIV and their consequences leading to non-AIDS comorbidities, with the goal of targeting therapeutic interventions to reduce these clinical outcomes. He completed his internal medicine residency training via the ABIM Research Pathway and is currently applying to fellowship in infectious diseases, which he will begin in July 2021.
