Biography
My interest in HIV/AIDS stems from my research in injecting drug use and drug policy. My current project draws on the work of British Anthropologist Mary Douglas and concerns where people locate the risks of HIV, whether inside or outside of a perceived community and the extent to which they consider risk under their personal control. It focuses on people who inject heroin/fentanyl in West Virginia. My work combines both anthropological and historical perspectives.
