Amy Conroy, PhD, MPH
Biography
Dr. Amy Conroy is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Prevention Science and CAPS. She is a behavioral scientist with multidisciplinary training from the fields of psychology, relationship science, and public health. Over the past decade, her research has focused on couple-based approaches to understand and intervene upon health behaviors among couples living with HIV in sub-Saharan Africa, including heavy alcohol use, intimate partner violence, and engagement in care and treatment. Dr. Conroy recently completed a K01 award examining relationship dynamics and HIV treatment outcomes among couples in Malawi, and is currently the PI of two follow-up studies. The first is an NHLBI-funded R01 observational cohort study on couples with HIV and cardiometabolic conditions, and the second is an NIAAA-funded R34 pilot study to develop and evaluate an economic and relationship-strengthening intervention to reduce heavy alcohol use.
