Mariam is a recent graduate from SFSU with a BA in General Biology and a Minor in Ethnic Studies: Race and Resistance. She is extremely passionate about helping to narrow the gap in health disparities within communities of color. During her time at SFSU, she had the opportunity to contribute to the MA^2 project, where they aimed to understand the microaggressions that women of color face in STEM. Additionally, Mariam hopes that through CFAR, she can gain a better understanding of the health disparities within the HIV community. She believes it is important to comprehend these issues before pursuing future medical programs.
