Robert Jackson

Biography

Roger Jackson has been in the field of HIV since 1989, where he began as a Community Health Outreach Worker at CAL-PEP, going on to work in a variety of capacities for over a decade. Over the course of his career, he has impacted the lives of hundreds of people living with HIV/AIDS and those at elevated risk through HIV test counseling, case management, treatment advocacy, and providing workshops and support groups in schools, jails, and juvenile hall. He helped to start some of the first needle exchanges in the Oakland Area and was involved in early underground HIV/AIDS experimental treatment methods. Mr. Jackson returned to CAL-PEP in 2015 as a Program Coordinator where he provides oversight and supervision for CAL-PEP’s federally-funded HIV testing and outreach programming.
