Biography
Dr. Archin is an Assistant Professor in the Infectious Diseases Division/ Department of Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the UNC HIV Cure Center. She received her B.S. degree from Stony Brook University, NY and her Ph.D. from the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio. Her laboratory research focus includes using molecular biology and biochemical methods to 1) define sex-specific and other factors that contribute to HIV persistence in people living with HIV with a particular focus on women, 2) define modalities to disrupt latency and clear latently infected cells, and 3) apply these observations in clinical applications.
