Using the Behavior Change Wheel to Develop Strategies to Improve HIV ART Adherence

Matt Spinelli is an Associate Professor in the UCSF HIV, ID, and Global Medicine Division with training in implementation science methods who uses these approaches to support HIV treatment and prevention implementation,  adherence, and retention in care. More recently, he leads projects on development of adherence measurement techniques for doxycycline post-exposure prophylaxis, including a directly observed therapy randomized trial. He is the co-director of the UCSF CFAR Implementation Science Working Group and Course Director of the Implementation Strategy Design course in the UCSF Department of Epidemiology. Finally, he serves as the PrEP Medical Lead for the UCSF Ward 86 Clinic.
