Bio-Behavioral Core

Director

Mallory Johnson, PhD

This core provides new services which integrate the social and behavioral context into HIV biomedical prevention, substance use, and biomarker-based analysis. This core will also support researchers with biostatistical support, particularly in analysis of biomarker data.

Subcores

  • Substance Use: The purpose of the new Substance Use Program of Research (SUPR), is to build capacity for HIV/substance use research and to promote substance use research to stimulate innovations.

  • PrEP Cohort: This new subcore was established to support HIV prevention research through access to a cohort of PrEP users and consultation on trial design, implementation, and analysis.

  • Biomarkers of Behavior: The purpose of this new subcore is to measure biomarkers of behavior focusing on two major areas: HIV adherence measures and substance use ingestion metrics.
