UCSF Population Health and Health Equity
The UCSF School of Medicine is pleased to announce the 2020 Class of Deans' Population Health and Health Equity (PHHE) Scholars. These awards are made to junior faculty working in the area of population health or health equity, broadly defined. The awards will go to support innovative research or programming already underway and led by the Scholars.
The AIDS Research Institute (ARI) partnered with the program to expand funding to scholars committed to population health and health equity across UCSF.
Three awards were made to investigators working in HIV Research:
- Catherine Koss, MD, for PrEP product and care delivery preferences to advance HIV prevention for young African women,
- Jerry Nutor, PhD, RN, MS, for understanding barriers to postpartum retention in HIV care among women in Southwest Uganda, and
- Judy Tan, PhD, for integrating biologic, psychosocial and neighborhood-level factors of adherence to antiretroviral therapy in gender minority adults.
