CFAR Special Update

Dear CFAR Early Stage Investigators,

The Johns Hopkins Center for AIDS Research (JHU CFAR) is hosting the 27th National CFAR Meeting in Baltimore from November 8-9, 2023. They are planning to welcome Early-Stage Investigators (ESIs) as attendees and participants in the CFAR Scientific Symposium, ESI Poster Session, and CFAR Leadership Dinner on Wednesday, November 8th and an ESI Mentoring Workshop on Thursday, November 9th. All nominated abstracts will be presented as posters during the ESI poster session with some abstracts selected for oral presentation during the symposium. This is a good opportunity for exposure, as all of the CFAR Directors, NIH program staff, and many other investigators from different CFARs attend this meeting.

Abstracts are welcome on all aspects of HIV/AIDS clinical, behavioral, public health, or laboratory research. The National CFAR Scientific Symposium is focusing on the below topics (which are more likely to be chosen for an oral presentation):

• Aging with HIV across the Lifespan

• HIV and Drug User health

• Co-Morbidities (TB, Hep B, Cancer)

• Cure

• EHE/Implementation Science

Abstracts are allowed to have been presented at another meeting (e.g., CROI).

If you are interested in being considered to present at this session (we're allowed to submit two abstracts from our CFAR), please submit your abstract via the below or linked webform by 5p Monday, August 14, 2023.

Thanks for considering submitting an abstract to the meeting!
