The CFAR Mentoring Program is designed to help develop the scientific career goals of early stage HIV investigators and postdoctoral scholars. To that end, on Friday, June 15, 2018 we will sponsor our 5th Annual Early-Stage Investigator (ESI) Leadership Retreat. Drs. Jonathan Fuchs and Monica Gandhi have developed a fully packed ¾ day event that responds to high priority professional development needs shared by UCSF ESIs.
We are thrilled Nancy Friedman, MBA will join us to lead the morning professional development sessions. She has over 25 years of experience as a leadership development consultant and executive coach, and has worked extensively with multiple senior and early stage investigators at UCSF. She is veteran executive coach and friend to the CFAR Mentoring Program. She will take a deep dive into the Styles of Leadership from Andrew Goleman and lead us through an exploration of our own MBTI which retreat participants will have the opportunity to take in advance of the workshop.
Peer-Reviewed Lightning Rounds
Drs. Fuchs and Gandhi will co-facilitate the popular specific aims peer review lightning rounds, allowing ESIs to get critical peer review and senior investigator input for grant proposals under development. Investigators wishing to present at the lightning rounds should contact Drs. Fuchs or Gandhi or Brenda ASAP.
Registration
Registration for the Early-Stage Investigator Retreat is limited. Register before June 15, 2018. All registrants will be given a link to complete their Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, MBTI. We will end the retreat with a social gathering (organized by JFAR) at our CFAR Director's home! Please let Diane Madsen (Diane.Madsen@ucsf.edu) know if you would like to attend this portion of the event.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided!
Looking forward to seeing you at the retreat!
