Biography
My primary area of research interest is integrating services for HIV/AIDS domestically and internationally. My focus over the last year has been in tuberculosis and cryptococcal disease in resource limited settings. I have some experience in qualitative methods and hope to be able to use such methods in understanding barriers to improving HIV/AIDS services and implementing evidence-based practices, particularly with respect to screening and management of tuberculosis and cryptococcal disease. Under the mentorship of Elvin Geng, I have come to value how important clinical measurements are as the first step in evaluating processes of care. A precise evaluation of the current processes in clinical care is the first step towards improving and implementing evidence-based practices and I feel fortunate to have begun to develop these skills.
