Biography

Kelly Johnson, MD is a second year fellow in Infectious Diseases (ID) at UCSF. After graduating with undergraduate degrees in English and Spanish from the University of Virginia, I spent two years working in public health policy for the US Department of Health and Human Services before earning my MD and Master of Public Health at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS). From 2015-2018 I completed Internal Medicine Internship and Residency at UCSF, then matched into the program’s ID fellowship where I am now serving as one of the Chief Fellows. I am currently working at the San Francisco Department of Public Health, where my research interests include real-world implementation of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) as well as the development of point-of-care measures of anti-retroviral adherence.
