Glenda Baguso, PhD

Glenda N. Baguso PhD, RN completed a Master’s in Advanced Practice Public Health Nursing in addition to a PhD in Nursing program at UCSF. With her background as a Registered Nurse (RN) in acute care and a volunteer RN and Director of Nursing in a community health clinic has fueled her interest in health disparities among those living with HIV. Her master’s thesis focused on the health literacy of Asian/Pacific Islanders living with HIV. Glenda's dissertation focused on factors associated with the HIV care continuum among transgender women. Her research interests are in overlapping stigmas, structural barriers and social determinants that impact the HIV care among marginalized populations. Glenda aims to improve on recruitment methods of marginalized communities into research and increase engagement and retention to health care.
