Gastrointestinal Mechanisms Contributing to HIV Pathogenesis (R01 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)

This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) seeks to bring together investigators with complementary expertise in HIV and in gastrointestinal mucosal pathobiology to dissect fundamental processes within the gastrointestinal tract that impact infection, persistence, and comorbidities. This multidisciplinary approach should lead to comprehensive, in-depth mechanistic analyses and advance progress toward alleviating comorbidities that afflict people living with HIV and toward developing a cure.
