Definitions
- PBMC Processing: Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) are separated from red blood cells, neutrophils, and granulocytes in whole blood by density gradient centrifugation using Ficoll-hypaque (density 1.077). After separation and multiple cell washings, cells are counted on a Coulter counter and aliquoted in cryopreservation media (90% fetal calf serum and 10% DMSO) for viable recovery.
