CFAR Programs

Professional Development > Mentoring Program

The CFAR Mentoring Program is now in its 6th year of operation. It is a nationally recognized model program that is designed to help develop the scientific career goals of early HIV investigators and postdoctoral scholars. The program emphasizes one-on-one interactions between well-established UCSF faculty investigators and junior researchers pursuing HIV research at UCSF or affiliated institutes. This academic year the program will launch in October. For additional information, please visit the CFAR Mentoring Program webpage.

Education > Scientific Research Symposium

In order to advance our Educational mission, CFAR holds an annual Scientific Research Symposium. The symposium serves to highlight the most promising areas of biomedical HIV/AIDS prevention research. Presentations span the spectrum of basic, clinical, translational, behavioral and international HIV/AIDS research. The Spring 2010 symposium will focus on Inflammation, Aging Accelerators, and HIV Malignancy. Please watch for regular symposium updates.

On February 24, 2009, CFAR held its 10th Annual Symposium: Biomedical Approaches to HIV/AIDS Prevention.
