CFAR Pilot Award Program

The Pilot Award Program is aimed toward junior investigators and senior postdoctoral fellows with translational, clinical and/or behavioral-epidemiological research interests who have an innovative HIV research idea, are seeking to initiate a project, or wish to gather preliminary data and findings leading to a future grant effort.

  • Term: 1 year
  • Number of awards: Dependent on available funding
  • Award amount: $40,000 in direct costs
  • Eligibility: Faculty members at the level of assistant professor (three years or less) or post-doctoral fellows at UCSF or affiliated with our partner institutes . More senior faculty members may apply, provided they are newly entering the field of HIV research.
